Rio MP3 Players Let You Play Harder
Rugged and stylish Rio MP3 players are favored by many music fans. Rio
started the mp3 player craze in 1998 with the debut of its PMP300 and remains an
award winning market leader. As of October 2005 four flash and four hard driver
choices were available from Rio.
Rio Flash Players
Rio Forge Sport models with their protective rubber housings and stainless
steel faceplates are ideal for extreme use. The 128MB, 256MB and 512MB versions
feature SD/MMC expansion slots for up to 1GB additional memory. Each Forge Sport
includes an FM tuner, stop watch, lap timer, sport clip earphones and up to 20
hours on a single AAA battery.
The budget priced 512MB Rio se510 Sport shares the rugged features of Forge
Sport models, but without the FM tuner and memory expansion slot. With
discounted prices
starting around $50, Rio's flash players are the affordable solution for
people who play hard while listening to their music.
Hard Drive Players
Only 2.5 x 3.3 x 0.6 inches and 3.2 ounces, the Rio Carbon Pearl's 5GB and
6GB players are loaded with features. Drag & drop for simple loading of songs or
data, voice record with built in microphone, fast USB 2.0, MP3, WMA and Audible
audio format support, and up to 20 hours per battery charge make the new Pearl
players favorites with music fans.
CNET rated the 5GB Carbon player 8.3 of 10, and PC World gave the Carbon
Pearls 4.5 of 5 stars, "World Class 2005," and "Best Buy" ratings.
Rio Carbon Pearl prices range from around $150 to $170.
The value priced ce2100 includes all features of the Pearl players except
voice record. Its 2.5GB memory stores up to 625 songs at 128kbps. Discount
retailer prices for the ce2100 start at less than $140.
