The Dell mp3 player line mirrors what millions already know about their
computers. Dell's custom of quality products at reasonable prices
continues with the Dell DJ mp3 players. They're compact and reliable at prices that will
actually leave enough money to buy some music.
Jukebox Attributes
Formats include MP3, WAV, WMA and DRM protected WMA. Music Match
Jukebox software included and Windows Media Player is supported.
Built-in lithium polymer batteries recharge as quickly as one
hour (AC adapter or USB) with up to 14 hour playback.
Durable metal construction with easy to read back-lit LCDs. The DJ 20, DJ 30 and Pocket DJ
models add a simple 3-way roller (menu up, down and select) to the intuitive
controls.
Equalizers feature eight pre-set modes plus 4-band customizable EQ. The DJ Ditty
has 6 pre-set modes (normal, pop, jazz, rock, classical & spoken word).

The Dell Digital Jukebox line currently includes the following four models:
- DJ 30 - 30GB 1.8" hard drive, up to 15,000 songs, 4.0"
X 2.5" X 0.74", 6.8 oz., 26-pin dock connector and USB 2.0 via dock
connector.
- DJ 20 - 20GB 1.8" hard drive, up to 9,900 songs, 4.0" X
2.5" X 0.74", 6.8 oz., 26-pin dock connector and USB 2.0 via dock
connector.
- Pocket DJ - 5GB 1.0" MicroDrive, up to 2,500 songs,
3.5" X 2.1" X 0.5", 4.4 oz., USB 2.0 and USB mini-B port.
- DJ Ditty - 512MB flash memory, up to 220 songs, 3.6" X 1.1" X
0.5", 1.29 oz., built-in USB 2.0 connector. Also features an FM tuner and supports Napster to Go.
It should be noted that Dell estimates song capacities based on 64kbps encoding.
Sound quality at this bit
rate is marginal at best. A more realistic 128kbps means the number of songs each
Jukebox
will hold should be cut in half.
However, starting at less than $100, Dell continues their practice of
providing superior value and Dell's DJ mp3 players deserve a close look.
